Supporting Power of the Hour

Dear Supporter

When I was first told about the Power of the Hour Foundation, l immediately felt the desire to be part of such a simple and yet powerful initiative to raise funds for the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter.

Like all of us I have no idea if a close family member or I will ever need the services of this life saving service. But! If the need arises I want to be sure that the Rescue Helicopter service will be ready for any emergency.

I am proud to be Patron for the Sunshine Coast region of the charitable Power of the Hour Foundation and I invite you to take the time to peruse the attached information on this life-changing Foundation.

NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT AND COMMIT TO THIS COMMUNITY OWNED FOUNDATION

Power of the Hour is a simple way of pulling Australians together by encouraging you to contribute in two ways. You can either donate $ 1.50-a-week from your wages through your employer, or once-a-year, give at least four hours of your time to your employer who will in turn donate the equivalent value of that time in dollars to Power of the Hour.

Your $1.50 each week will guarantee this vital community service continues to assist those in need of urgent medical or in life threatening situations.

I encourage you to add your support to the Foundation . . . today.

Yours sincerely

Dear Supprter,

The Sunshine Coast Helicopter Rescue Service now known as AGL Action Rescue Helicopter has been saving lives since 1979. Last finandal year alone, the Service conducted over I000 missions, saving the lives of many local residents and tourists alike. The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter doesn't charge a cent to those they rescue and they rely on the community supporting it, as much as they support the community every day.

The Power of the Hour foundation is a fantastic way for you to help this vital community service continue watching over your loved ones.

We are proud to be the major benefator of the Power of the Hour; a not-for-profit foundation set up by local business people to raise funds to keep your community helicopter in the air through a simple payroll deduction scheme.

How do I get involved?

In your pack will find a letter of introduction to the foundation from Sunshine Coast Regional Council Mayor, Bob Abbott. You will also receive a Power of the Hour brochure.

Complete the form in the brochure and return it to your manager or your Power of the Hour coordinator - its that simple.

You can give as little as $1.5O per week and as a deductible gift recipient, all donations to the foundation are tax deductible with all participants receiving applicable receipts at the end of financial year.

All participating organizations will go in the running 1o win a complimentary tour of the rescue helicopter operations and a BBQ for up to 2O staff during the year - so encourage your workmates to be involved as well.

Ultimately, you never know when you or a loved one may need the Rescue helicopter - like David*. David never thought he would need Rescue helicopter, but when his grand daughter was born with complications from cystic fibrosis when she was just 3 days old, the rescue chopper was there to rush her to the specialist care she needed to survive. Just two days later, on his way to see his grand daughter, David was involved in an accident himself, injuring his leg and head. Once again the rescue chopper was called in to help. Today, David and his grand daughter are happy and healthy - living proof that a community, coming together, can save lives. (*not the patients real name)

The Power of the Hour is a simple and effective way for you to help keep your community rescue helicopter flying. Every little bit counts.

On behalf of the Board, pilots, crew and importantly, those the rescue helicopter Service saves. we thank you for your consideration.

Kind regards
